Aloha! Welcome to the Hawaii Tourism Authority’s (HTA) Tourism Strategic Plan home page. The HTA is in the process of updating the Hawaii Tourism Strategic Plan 2005-2015 (2015 TSP) to create the Hawaii Tourism Strategic Plan (HTASP), which will be the fourth in a series of statewide strategic plans developed since 1999. Separately and together, they have provided the framework for the success of Hawaii’s visitor industry.
As the State’s lead agency for tourism, HTA trusts that this updated Plan will move our visitor industry forward in the next five years and ensure that the benefits of tourism will continue to support and perpetuate our people, our culture, and our community.
Throughout this site, you will find information on the planning process, background documents, and resources used to develop the HTASP, as well as Frequently Asked Questions. The plan was presented by the HTA’s Tourism Strategic Plan Investigative Committee to the full HTA board of directors on September 24, 2015, and was approved by the HTA board on October 29, 2015. The approved plan can be viewed here.
